Fashion’s Night Out in Paris

The third annual fashion extravaganza, Fashion’s Night Out, takes place this Thursday and will be celebrated in 17 cities around the world.

Continuing the creative effort to promote the economic interests of the fashion industry at large, Fashion’s Night Out is designed to bring the usually inaccessible world of fashion to the forefront by hosting a series of public events.  Created in 2009 by American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York, the third edition of Fashion’s Night Out promises to be the biggest party yet.

From Manhattan to Milan, Atlanta to Australia, Spain to South Korea, this after-hours event has rapidly become one of the most important stops on the international fashion circuit.  Praised by designers, editors, and retailers alike, this fun-filled celebrity show offers a glimpse of the golden side of fashion today.  Although New York may have been the instigator, she is by no means alone when it comes to providing a ‘sinful shopping experience’ for all fashion minded individuals.

Following in the footsteps of American Vogue, French Vogue has created a buzz with the Parisian version of Fashion’s Night Out à la Française, otherwise known as Vogue Fashion Night, taking a very Haute Couture pose on the illustrious Avenue Montaigne.  Far from the democratic approach to fashion heralded in major cities such as London and New York, Paris turns up her nose at young designers and fast-fashion retailers in order to concentrate on what makes Paris fashion different than any other…‘la haute couture’.

Be among the select few to experience a night of fashion like no other, pick up a copy of the September VOGUE Paris to receive your invitation.  Although the evening extravaganza is designed to be a public event, most Parisian events are VIP only, and even with an invitation, entry is extremely limited.  However, the street remains open to all and affords a fabulous view of the latest trends in fashion, worn by some of the trendiest people in Paris.
