The Incredible Vision of Bruno Moinard
The Galeries Lafayette recently inaugurated its very own temple of luxury on the first floor of their boulevard Haussman store. Created by the famous French architect and designer, Bruno Moinard, the brand new Luxury Space blends magnificently into the existing decor of this incredibly opulent building. Taking his inspiration from the traditions and heritage of the immense cupola, created in 1912, and the gold leaf banisters crafted by Louis Majorelle, Bruno Moinard sought to compliment the new decor by playing off the present and the past, ultimately taking the space into the future. From the floor to the ceiling, every detail represents a mythical accomplishment of majestic talent.
The lighting itself is a work of art. Imagined by Moinard, yet created by artist Yann Kersal, the wave like structure that makes up the ceiling, composed of 2500 luminous porcelaine petals, reflects upon the warm grey tones of the natural stone floor, laid out in the traditional Versailles motif. The rounded edges of the black stone trim pay tribute once again to the fabulous cupola and seem to fasten the individual spaces to the entire creation, much like photos in a scrapbook.
Follow the open-floor design to discover the luxurious individual spaces of Balenciaga, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, John Galiano, Comme des Garcons and other famous names in fashion. The theatrical design of the golden bird cage dressing rooms and the beauty of the glass floral screens will keep you entranced, at least long enough to take you back to the Möet Champagne Bar.
